The activated carbon has an important role in the public water purification. It is absolutely necessary in the removal of the taste and odor caused by the substances MIB (Methylisoborneol) and Geosmin, which are produced by the blue-green algae.
Besides, the activated carbon removes organic compounds, phenolics and all the substances that decrease the water quality, for instance, pesticides, micropolluents; it can also work as bacteria and virus blocks.
